They tend to whine when they need to go outside but I thought it would be nice to train them to ring these bells when they ...
My dogs are trained to either go to the bathroom inside on newspaper but also to go outside in the backyard. They tend to whine when they need to go outside but I thought it would be nice to train them to ring these bells when they need to go. I hate hearing my babies whine, it breaks my heart so this will be a better option. When I got it, it was a very simple band with bells on it, like jingle bells. It is very well built and the bells are pretty loud as well. There’s a snap closure where you a hook it on a door knob or if you’re placing near a sliding door what I did was stuck a hook on the wall and hung this on that, you can probably use a suction cup hook to on the glass! The seller sends you a eBook on how to train your dog to use these bells but I think it’s pretty straight forward and dogs are very smart animals and should catch on pretty easy. I’m sure using small treats to get them used to using the bells and not be afraid of the ringing would be ideal to start out then introduce the fact that you “open” the door when they ring the bells. Stay consistent and soon your dogs will be using these. I'm still in the process of training but i can see it working over time! My uncle has trained his dog successfully with these bells. I did purchase this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I got these potty bells before picking up our 8 week old German Shepherd. I was hesitant at first, but after reading the reviews and seeing the low price, I decided to go for it. With 1 seven year old GSD already in the house, I wondered if she would also catch on or get confused.

Well our older GSD did NOT catch on, but our 8 week old was fully potty trained within 1 week with potty bells!!! We took her out every 45 minutes to 1 hr every day (ringing the bells before opening the door and saying potty time), until she rang the bells for the first time by herself! After that we would wait for 2 hrs potty breaks and learnt to try and trust that she would tell us when she needed to go. Sure enough, within 1.5 weeks our puppy was fully potty trained!

    Thank you!!

We have had ours for over a year now. When we adopted our dog he had been locked in a house and they didn't care if he went potty on the floor. We would take him on long walks and he would wait to get inside to go. So we got the bells, tapped his foot on them, and would let him out. In no time he was ringing them himself and he is now fully potty trained. We moved recently and the door for him to go potty is in the back of the house, so this is great!
I saw someone post they were too quite, but we could hear ours from upstairs. In fact my 3-year-old usually runs to open the door for him now.

He also learned a trick with it. If you are eating, he will go ring his bells, wait till you get to the door and race back to eat your food. He score a lot of treats off my 3-year-old.

The bells work as expected. My only complaint is that when you wrap the end around the door handle, the button that is supposed to be used to hold it on the door handle, is near impossible to snap together. We ended up just tying the ends together to make sure it stays wrapped around the door handle.

I guess I expected too much from this product. I paid 12 dollars for a string with bells and a 2 page "BOOK" Had I known it was that easy I would've just made the thing myself and searched on the internet for information on how to bell train your dog. Please don't waste your money. Buy heavy duty straps, (like the kind used for handles on bags) and attach bells to them. Then google how to bell train your dog. If the book had more than 1.5 informational pages, I would've given it more stars.

I bought this on the recommendation from a friend as I was struggling with the potty training of my puppy. I admit I was pretty lazy about the training, I think I worked with it off and on for about a month. Despite that, my puppy got the gist of the purpose of the bells. He's fully potty trained now, and will still use the bells when he needs to go outside.

My biggest advice when it comes to this product is to hang it with the leash. My dog wears a harness when we're outside but not inside, so I have it hanging right next to the harness. I think where you hang it brings the best results: Even though I didn't work directly with the bells as much as I could have, I always take him outside with the harness. Association is the key to the results.

Bells arrived as described but no instructions by email or otherwise. My puppy touches the bells but they are not loud enough to hear more than a few feet away, even when I ring them myself. Plus, they ring whenever the door is opened, not just when the dog touches them, which counteracts the teaching value. I am outside the return period because I kept trying to make them work so I have wasted $12. Just bought a doggy place wireless doorbell, which was very easy to set up. I need to train the dog to push the button but when I figure that out, I will be able to hear it all over the house and it will only ring when the pup deliberately pushes the button, not when the door opens.

As soon as I put this up my new puppy was at the door trying to use it, My puppy is only 8 weeks old so am impressed with the puppy as well as the idea of the bells. The bells are loud enough to be heard but not too loud to be annoying There are 3 sets of bells with 2 bells on each set. They are attached to a ring then looped thru the belt. It included an e-book on how to use the bell for potty training. There is a lifetime guarantee with the door bell set. This is a positive way to potty train a puppy. I highly recommend this product,
I received the Potty Training Doorbells at a reduced price for my fair and honest opinion. This is my opinion about this product.

I received the Potty Training Bells very quickly and they exceeded my expectations (as did the price)!! I just love how they sound like nice sleigh bells rather than jingle bells... if that makes sense. I received the eBook on how to train my puppy right away... showed my 5 month old Shih Tzu one time how to jingle the bells with her nose while saying "lets go potty outside"... after that she was a pro! I was a little afraid she would decide to play with these as toys rather than use as a communication technique... but she really hasn't . The best part of these doorbells is they are low enough for a small dog or high enough for a larger dog. Well worth the price!!!!
