SECOND SHIPMENT OF VERY DAMAGED CANS!!

SECOND SHIPMENT OF VERY DAMAGED CANS!!
Received my shipment and in one case over half the cans have damage and can't be used. Some i was able to open, others had to be thrown out. Really like this brand of wet food, but very unhappy with receiving damaged cans. 19th March 2021 UPDATE! I just received another shipment, with MORE DAMAGED CANS! The dents on these are too a point where they almost broke open!!

I researched a lot about Dog food after my German shepherd passed away at age of 6 yrs to stomach cancer. I still hold myself responsible for his death as i never thought about what kibble i was feeding him. Since that time, i have whole heardtly focused on what i feed my sheltie puppy. I researched quite a bit before i decided on the WELLNESS brand. I started him out with the puppy yellow can from wellness, and now have switched him to the grain free version. So far he has been loving this every morning and evening. This is possibly the best for the budget we have right now.

The food itself is a nice consistency - not too mushy and not to compact. I mix a little warm water with his kibble and top it off with 2 tsps of this food. His stools are fine, and i havent experienced any gas, or bloat from him either. Im very pleased with the shipping as well. All the cans arrived in good shape with absolutely no dents or anything. Very fast shipping. Im going to be buying this food from Amazon from now on.

If you are deciding between certain brands - let me assure you - WELLNESS is a great brand for your little best friend :) Hope this helps you in making a decision :)

Our 8 month old puppy likes a little of it mixed in with her dry kibble. It's hard to find a high quality dog food. It is thick in consistency.
The only negative I found was we had to use a can opener to open the cans. It was not a pop top.

This is a great dog food. I originally started giving my puppy the Iams Puppy Canned food but she soon started having tummy touble and stool issues. I switched to this food and there was no problem. She ate it up quickly. It has been a few months of using this alongside the Wellness puppy dry dog food and she just wont eat it anymore or she only eats it when she is really hungry. Not sure why. I am trying a new brand and will switch back to Wellness. Maybe she just needs variation.

My puppy seems to like it. She was very under weight when I adopted her and she's gained weight quickly in the last week or so with this food and didn't get sick when I transitioned her to it. My only complaint is that these cans don't have a pull tab to open. I have to spend like 4 seconds opening the cans with a can opener - remember those? No big deal though. I'm not going to take points off just because I'm lazy.

My puppy loves this wet food. I did a lot of research on dog food before I got a puppy. And finally I decided to try the Puppy core wellness. My dog got used to eat it plain and he would go through a lot of cans in a month. Now he is eating it mixed with dry food as he is older and needs to eat even more. I think this food is great and unlike other reviewers I have never received a dented can.

UPDATE: After eating this food with no problems for two months my puppy (6 mo)started having bad gas problems and vomiting. I didn't know what it was and kept feeding him. After a week he became very lethargic and he would cough and vomit foamy white stuff. I thought he could be sick as he was refusing all food even boiled chicken. We took him to the emergency vet hospital (he was very sick during the new years holiday weekend) they kept him overnight and couldn't find anything wrong. He was very dehydrated thought. He has been on a ground beef or chicken with rice diet since then. We have slowly introduced other food items like sweet potatoes since then and some of his kibble. He was getting better no vomiting whatsoever. Today (Jan 12th) I decided giving him his canned food again and three hours later he started coughing and vomiting again. Most of his food was partially digested and he was vomiting the foam again. I am sure now the food got him sick. Never again!

I'm torn here... This seems like great food for your dog and my dog loves it. My dog likes it much better then other high end wet dog foods. This being said i do find pieces of plastic in the food ALL THE TIME. They are very tinny and probably not a big concern if your dog is small like mine and doesn't eat a whole lot with each meal and I only feed it to her with dinner. BUT there is still the matter of there being plastic and other pieces of stuff in the food that is definitely not supposed to be there. So I'm convinced that no big dog food company gives 2 poops about the dogs they are feeding so its difficult choosing unless you have access to a smaller company that cares about their product. Don't buy this if you have a big dog that you are planning on feeding a lot of this to them every day, I'm sure it's not good eating plastic and God knows what else. Only reason I gave 3 stars is because it's still better than a whole load of other canned dog foods.

I put my pup on the wellness core food, both kibble and wet food, and he does fantastic on it. He was on just the wellness puppy before, but after I switched him to the core, he's had way less poop, which tells me he's absorbing all of his nutrients. I honestly don't know why Wellness doesn't cut their basic product line, it's the same price as the core but overall better in quality from what I've seen. And the pup loves it!

As a customer, I can confirm that this dog food will probably not kill your dog. My puppy is still alive and keeps eating this whenever I scoop some out for him. I'll update my post should his status change or if he obtains superpowers.

Pros: Dog likes it. He's healthy. He's alive. His poop looks fine.
Cons: It doesn't give your dog superpowers.

I have a mini Australian Shepherd who loves this food so much I am afraid he is going to choke on it. I mix it with the Wellness puppy food and he goes bananas!

When we got him he was very tiny - almost 10 weeks and just 5 lbs. We were told to put him on a high quality food and feed him on a schedule were he would get a 'little extra' so he could grow and with this food he is doing amazingly.

The people we adopted him from had him on excellent food but he just didn't take to it. They gave us suggestions on good foods to put him on and this was was one of them. In doing more research on my own it is one of the top ranked puppy foods on the market.

Like that there is a canned wet food version of the puppy food available. The food doesn't smell too bad kind of like spam so when I am preparing it for my puppy I am not holding my breath or gagging at the smell.

(This review is for the Puppy Formula)

Wellness is a top brand for a reason; they care about dog nutrition and make their products to suit. My puppy is now 10 months old and started Wellness Puppy Formula at 8 months. She tolerates it. She doesn't really like it or crave it; she eats it because she gets hungry. In the video, she just walks away. It's like she's mad at me. Prior to 8 months I used Merrick, perhaps the top brand but expensive. She eats Wellness kibble, so we thought we'd see if we could transition her to their wet food. It hasn't really worked. We're going back to Merrick. Everything is presentation; this comes out looking like slop, has confusing slop-like scents to the dog, and has a sloppy mush texture. Merrick is real food; chunks of meat, chicken, potatoes and carrots and other vegetables in gravy or broth. Both do not use fillers. One looks appealing and my dog will down it in minutes - HINT: it's not this one. In short, it's worth a try but my dog is moving on.
