Product Description

Trudell Medical International (est. 1922) developed the AeroKat* chamber to specifically account for the unique needs of cats in respiratory distress, for example the presence of fur, differences in face shape, breathing patterns and behavior. Adapted from leading technology in human chambers, The AeroKat* chamber is made exclusively in Canada with Canadian and USA parts from the makers of the leading AeroChamber* brand of chambers for humans, which are used by doctors in over 100 countries around the world.

The AeroDawg* aerosol chamber can be used with any feline inhaler, metered dose inhaler (MDI) or puffer that your veterinarian has prescribed for a respiratory condition including: feline asthma, dog wheezing, allergies, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), laryngeal paralysis, tracheal collapse.
The AeroDawg* chamber has exclusive features, such as the Flow-Vu* Indicator, low-resistance inhalation valve and antistatic holding chamber. These features ensure that your dog benefits from medication, and you save on your annual dog medication costs!

BETTER PERFORMANCE, LESS MEDICATION WASTE
We’ve designed the AUTHENTIC AeroDawg* chamber with exclusive features that reduce medication waste and help you save on your dog’s annual inhaled respiratory medication costs:
- State-of-the-art Flow-Vu* Indicator
- Low-resistance inhalation/exhalation valve
- Antistatic holding chamber
- Non-stick masks in two sizes
The AeroDawg* chamber has been shown to keep more medication available so your dog has time to inhale the dose. Inhalation delay is important because: 1) Dogs may instinctively hold their breath when you first apply an inhaler mask; 2) Dogs typically require 7-10 breaths to empty the chamber; 3) Puffing the medication into the AeroDawg* chamber before applying the mask can prevent startling.
*TMI data on file. Chambers used directly out of package. Medication delivered measured at the mouthpiece past the valve with 2-second inhalation delay. Results reflect the performance of the anti-static MWI VetOne 2-in-1 Feline Aerosol Chamber and the average performance of four non anti-static chambers. Cost annualized based on 2 puffs per day and 280 dollars per canister.
AeroDawg* is the only canine aerosol chamber that features the innovative Flow-Vu* Indicator. This indicator allows you to check that the mask is fitted correctly and count the number of breaths taken.
Without a proper mask fit, your dog may not get the medication. The Flow-Vu* Indicator allows you to count as your dog takes the 7-10 breaths required to empty the chamber. This feature helps ensure the full dose is delivered to your dog’s lungs.
The AeroDawg* chamber has a high-performance, low-resistance inhalation valve that is extra-sensitive so that it opens even with shallow breathing.
On exhalation, the valve seals to prevent exhaled breath from blowing medication out of chamber to help ensure a higher delivery rate with less medication waste.
The AeroDawg* chamber is made from a shatter-resistant, non-static polymer.
Our anti-static aerosol inhaler space ensures medication doesn’t stick to the sides, holding it aloft until your dog is ready to inhale. This design makes medication more readily available for inhalation deep into the lungs.
The AeroDawg* chamber includes a small mask for use with dogs and puppies weighing up to 10lbs and a medium mask for dogs weighing over 10lbs.
Each mask is made from comfortable silicone rubber that won’t stick to the skin or pull fur.

Using the AeroDawg* Chamber is easy! Simply follow these four steps:
- Shake inhaler and insert into back of chamber
- Press the inhaler to release medication
- Apply the mask to cover the nose and mouth but not the eyes
- Use the Flow-Vu* Indicator to count 7-10 breaths
Easier than pilling or injections, you may be surprised how accepting dogs are of the AeroDawg* when you follow the condition, love, reward approach:
Condition: Entice your dog by giving treats before use; start with the mask only to familiarize your dog with the device; pump medicine into the chamber first to avoid startling your dog, then fit the mask to your dog's face. Love: Hold your dog in a favorite towel or blanket for comfort. Reward: Give your dog treats after each use.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2025Size: Dogs 20lbs or OverVerified PurchaseI love that you know your pet is getting their medication with the flap. You can tell how hard your pet is breathing in, how many breaths they are taking and if they are actually getting the medication or not. The spacer is durable and well made, well thought out with your pets care in mind. I understand the reviews about cost and not needing name brand. Completely get it. When I spoke with my husband about needing to get a chamber/spacer and the different routes we could go he didn't want to hear anything about it. He told me to get this one and didn't understand why we were even discussing it. The inhaler alone was costing us around $400. If this was going to ensure he was actually getting that medication into his lungs it just made sense. "watching" him breathe is not a sure way to make sure he is getting the medication and after doing it twice a day for months on end it was clear I would have never known if he was or not. This chamber is also easy to take apart to clean and let air dry before putting it back together and use again. The different size cups to place over your pets snout also allow for a comfortable fit in an already uncomfortable situation. We were pleasantly surprised with how well our old man took to his inhaler and we were fortunate we were able to afford the Aerodawg spacer to help in that process. While it is an expensive product, if you are able to afford it, I would highly recommend to ensure your pet is getting the most out of their medication.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2025Size: Dogs 20lbs or OverVerified PurchaseThis product is amazing. Not as hard as it looks once you and your dog get used to it. Our vet gave us a demo so we could practice with our dog before actually administering the inhaler, which was quite helpful.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2024Size: Dogs 20lbs or OverVerified PurchaseI imagine that my surprise was much the same as yours when the vet said, "Your dog needs an inhaler". My initial response was, "Can I do that at home?". They giggled and went on to explain. Their explanation of how to administer the inhaler included this particular brand device. There are cheaper ones, but I'm glad I went with this one. We use this for 2 puffs every morning and night. We have been using this for about 3 months now. At first, I did have a little trouble trying to understand what size mask to use for him, but once I ironed that out, all was well. The size I chose makes a good seal over his nose and a bit of his mouth. I just gently hold his mouth shut as we use it and he breathes through his nose. This took him very little time to adapt to. We made this a game at first and gave it the name "Puffer". Following puffer, there is always a treat. He AND my other dog both come running when I say "Puffer Time!". They both remain calm and quiet so we can count to our 10 breaths for each puff. I like that there is a flap that indicates each breath taken. That makes it easy. We wait for him to take a breath where I can see that the flap moves cleanly. That way I know it's properly placed and he's breathing normally with it over his mouth and nose. After that first breath, then I release the puff and we count 10 movements (breaths) on the indicator flap. I clean this once a week, as they say to, by easily pulling apart the few pieces and swishing around in a bowl of soapy water. It dries pretty quickly and is ready by the next time we need it. My only complaint is that over these last few months, even with regular cleaning, there is residue left behind. Most of this can be wiped out, but swish as I might with the soapy water, it will NOT get the area inside where the indicator flap is clean. So this is now so cloudy that it's getting tough to see the flap. I don't see any way to get a small bottle brush or anything else in that area to clean it. This has been a life-saving device for us so I'll still give it 5 stars, but I'm super frustrated about not being able to clean out that area. This was NOT cheap and I've been taking extremely good care of it. I would hope it lasts more than 3 months! Aside from that issue, it's truly a great medical tool.
UPDATE:
I've lowered this to 4 stars due to a frustrating experience with customer service. I called regarding the cloudy interior that will not clean. It was very difficult to get the customer service rep to understand that I CLEAN THIS AS PER THEIR INSTRUCTIONS! I have cleaned it like clockwork, every Sunday since we started using it. That's just not cutting it! First she suggested that it's condensation. It's not. Then it was try warm water. I have! I've tried everything from cold to hot water. I swish, I soak, I move it left right, right left and down up and up down. No luck! She suggested that I do all the things I've been doing. Then asked how often we use it. The answer is daily. 2 puffs in the am and 2 puffs in the pm. She apparently thought that was a lot and suggested that I clean this more frequently. Maybe try a different soap? I now clean this every 2-3 days and I've switched to the strongest DAWN dish soap there is. No luck. I was informed that they suggest replacing this yearly. I can accept that, but I've only used this for 3 months! How can they sell something this important that can't be cleaned? If I can find a less expensive alternative I'll have to try it. The inhalers are already costing me an arm and a leg and I simply can't afford to replace this $60 thing every 3 months because it's not possible to clean.
