This was the one gift that my 4 year old really wanted for Christmas. I searched all around to find one that wouldn't break our budget and finally found this one. I had a puppy surprise when I was a little girl, and was surprised to see that they had come back out. It is a little bit smaller than they used to be, but the puppies are still cuter than ever! The dog is very soft and cuddly, even with the stringy, messy hair. The puppies fit in the palm of you hand, and while the bodies are soft, the heads are hard plastic. The thing that was funny to us was that our dog had had puppies a few months before, and the designs on the heads of the Puppy Surprise puppies were an exact match of our 3 puppies, spots and all! How crazy! So my daughter named the puppies after our actual puppies. The only downside was that it arrived a few days after Christmas, she was still very excited when she opened it though. She plays with it everyday, puts the baby puppies back inside the pouch, and sleeps with it at night.

I had no idea Puppy Surprise was still on the market until I was shopping for gifts to give my daughter. I of course had to buy one as soon as I saw them. My daughter opened hers on her birthday and what a surprise, 5 puppies(4 pink and 1 blue)! She was so happy and excited. I have to admit, my inner child was super jealous.Overall, Popcorn is a really cute dog. I love the long hair on her ears and tail. She seems to live up to everything I remember about PS from my childhood. Good quality and cute! I won't lie, I can't wait to buy more for my kids because they sure are getting a kick out of Popcorn!

Though my daughter absolutely is thrilled with her Puppy Surprise, I was a bit bummed out by this toy. My daughter got this as a present for accomplishing some goals she set forth. She thought hard and long about which PS she wanted, and so we ordered Popcorn. Well, when it came to the house, the Amazon tag said it was Popcorn, but it was mislabeled and it was the Zoey Puppy Surprise. She made the most of it, but she was a bit disappointed that it wasn't the one she wanted. In addition, one of the puppies had a scuff mark on its ear. Again, being the super great kid she is, she decided it was a birthmark. :) However, I again was disappointed at the quality of the toy based on what we were expecting.

This product arrived as promised and is high quality. The reason I am giving four stars and instead of five has more to do with the product line as a whole, instead of this one product. The girls in my extended family are big Puppy Surprise fans at the moment, and all of the children received at least one for the holidays. Many of them have multiples and collect them, trying to get all of the "babies". My slight issue is that every single one that the girls have received have only ever had three surprise puppies in the "mommy". The toy boxes and commercials say that the "surprise" puppies can number "up to four or five". I understand that this is kind of a marketing-scheme-luck-of-the-draw type of thing, but I would think after seeing a gaggle of kids receive a bunch of these toys (received from different people and different stores) that at least ONE would have had four or five "babies" in them. It was a slight disappointment to the kids when not one of them got more than the minimum.

Quite possibly the creepiest and most disturbing toy I've ever purchased!! My 9 year old dog lover was freaked out by this "doll". The face is hard plastic and has the same demented sort of look as an evil clown. If you've ever suffered thru an episode of the doodle-bops, you'll have flashbacks when you see this dog in person. But I guess what freaked her out the most was how the mom just splayed open and spilled out big-eyed puppies!!! Haha... it was like watching a dog have a C-section on Christmas morning. Wish I could post the video of her opening the gift and the initial reaction. Priceless, but save your money and don't buy this!

I'm pretty sure I was more excited than my daughter :) This is a great toy and I was happy to be able to give it to my daughter just as I had received it when I was a child.

Puppy surprise was bought as a birthday gift for my 3 year old granddaughter. She came with three puppies in her belly which was perfect for the occasion. The Mom's name was Popcorn and my granddaughter named the puppies Sleepy, Happy and Rosie. Needless to say theu were a big hit.
