Customers find the bark collar works well, particularly for chronic barkers, and appreciate its good quality. The device gives a good warning beep and reduces barking, though some report it goes off when nearby dogs bark. While some customers consider it safe and good value for money, others warn not to use it on small dogs and find it not worth the cost. Moreover, the shock level receives mixed feedback, with some reporting extremely strong shocks, and the battery life is criticized for not lasting long.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2015This collar worked AMAZINGLY! I got it for my new puppy that has high prey drive and hated/chased our cats. I did not ONLY use this collar, we did tons of training too, but this collar is what worked the best and made our lives go back to normal with the cats!
I have a Border Collie Corgi mix, he is very jealous and hated that we loved on our kitties (that were here first). We did not want the kitties to feel like things were different so we used the buttons on the collar to make sure he knew when he was doing anything bad around the cats. It worked amazingly!! We only had to use the actual shock part about 5-7 times and the rest was just the tone. It was so easy to train him once he knew what they meant!
I also used it a few times around kids when he was still jumping on them. As soon as I used it near a particular kid he NEVER jumped or really went too close to that kid again. It was great! He loves kids and it did not change his perception of them at all, but taught him not to get jumpy or crazy near them. He was 6 months when I started with this, he is 11momths now and I no longer need the collar.
My one negative is the batteries don't last in this thing. Once the collar dies and you replace those batteries, the remote dies and you have to do those. Then I started taking the batteries out at night and that helped for a while and then something happened with the remote and I had to change the batteries once a week. It was very annoying. But I guess the thing did its job, so that's a minor negative for me!
Walmart and Amazon sell the batteries for pretty cheap.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2015This collar has been a godsend. First, let me start off by saying that I has previously been totally against shock collars. I've never used them with any of the dogs I've had before. However, that was before my current rescue, a five year old Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix. He's a sweet dog but he suffers from terrible separation anxiety and soon as we leave the apartment, he barks non-stop for hours and hours. And his are not quiet little barks. I tried everything possible, following the best training advice I could get as well as things like pheromones and a citronella collar that worked beautifully on my last dog. But it didn't work on this one - I would come home hours later to a barking dog and an empty valve - and an apartment that smelled like citronella. I tried a vibration collar to no end as he just barked and barked and wore out the battery. I even gave him a bit of Benadryl and later, some melatonin in the hopes of easing his nerves but nothing worked to ease his anxiety. I am an experienced dog owner and I have never had a dog that was so difficult to break of the barking habit. The minute I start to leave, he starts to hyperventilate. It was really painful to see his anxiety.
Finally, I received a letter from my management company telling me if the dog didn't stop barking, I would have to get rid of him or be evicted. So out of desperation, I ordered this product, not really thinking it would work. But I was wrong! It worked perfectly.
The collar works in stages so before it emits a shock, it beeps first so that the dog has a warning. I did test the shock on my hand - not pleasant but not horrible so I felt less awful about putting it on him. He did yelp the first time it shocked him (I stood directly outside the front door listening.) However, he very soon learned that the barking was causing it and now, he no longer barks when it is on him. It only took a couple of times wearing it for him to learn. On some days, I take out the battery but he doesn't know that so he just keeps quiet. I am still working on some training with him to teach him not to bark even without the collar. But for the time being, the collar has done its job and I am VERY grateful as I was running out of options.
It's pretty amazing! We are no longer in danger of having to get rid of him. In addition, because the collar is activated with sudden jerky movements, the crazy jumping and scratching at the door has also stopped, as has his hyperventilation every time we put on our coats. He is now much calmer and while he doesn't like wearing it, it does soothe him and make him remain calm. For the time being, we will continue to use it until we can train him to be quiet and also calm without it.
The one drawback is that there is no on-off button so you do have to pop out the battery every single time you take it off him but that is a minor quibble for a product that has saved our little family and was an amazing bargain.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2015This item was suppose to be the answer to my prayers but ending but being a nightmare. Used for about 30 days and work amazing. Then one day we were outside as a family and both neighbors on each side of us were mowing. I don't know if this set off the unit or not but it suddenly started shocking our dog without reason. He started running around the yard yelping in pain and hid under a bush while I chased him around trying to remove it. In addition the the shocking, the dog tried to bite me while trying to remove it out of fear. After it was removed, the dog hid under the bed for 2 hours. At the time the unit was on the lowest level possible and according to instructions should have stopped shocking after reaching the highest level of intensity, which it didnt. I'm too afraid to put it back on him now, and I can't return it. Very disappointed customer here.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2015It works fairly well. In the beginning it worked well, beeped and zapped appropriately. Now after a few months, it will beep if they shake themselves and sometimes doesn't beep until either of my dogs bark repeatedly for a couple of minutes. But since they're pretty clever (both of the dogs I use it on interchangeably) they only growl or whine now and that rarely triggers the beep when someone is at the door. So in effect, it did it's job...sort of...they know that they shouldn't bark at the door...when they have it on. Even when it doesn't make a noise. As soon as I take it off, they will bark once or twice loudly and then whine just as loudly...knowing that they can get away with that. So whatever. It decreased the super loud barking, but didn't eliminate it entirely.
