It's getting around hunting season around here in northern Michigan and we live on 20 acres that backs onto National Forest Land. My concern was that my dog, who runs on our land, might get mistaken for a bear, deer or turkey which would be horrifying! Since we have to wear "hunter orange" to comply with the DNR regulations, I felt that why not Sophie, our dog, as well? This very inexpensive, lightweight vest has nice coverage, can be seen from a far distance during the day and it glows like heck when a light flashes on it. When I let her out at night and have the porch light on, I can see her coming from a far distance! I see the reflective bands and paw prints on the vest. She also enjoys wearing it (prior to her getting this vest, she was somewhat shy and skittish, but now she is more playful and gregarious with others). I know that sounds weird, but my husband and I attribute it to the fact that the vest secures around her midsection and neck and covers her back fairly completely (kind of like a Th*nd*rSh*rt) so it may get her that "secure feeling." In any event, it does the job and we couldn't be happier that our beloved pet is safe on her romps outdoors or when I take her out on a leash! I wish I would have gotten this sooner!
November 10,2012. My dog has been wearing this vest DAILY, 24 Hours a day since we got it in September. We live on 20 acres and my dog is pretty rough and tumble. Yes, the stitching unraveled a bit after about a month of this extreme wear (and the fact that she got it caught on some branches in the woods and came home walking on the jacket portion (the velcro quick released--which was nice). I can sew and quickly reinforced the seams. My dog still loves, loves, loves her vest and misses it when it goes into the wash (air dry)--she sits and washes the washing machine until it comes out. I think that this little vest is well worth the money--even with my help with the seam stitching (after all, she's worn it non-stop for nearly 2 months)! I'm very happy with this purchase, the manufacturer and the company that sells it! Thanks for a great product!
PS--We did get a L*nds *nd vest and she's not happy wearing it and tries to take it off. Go figure!

Good vest, but check sizing
The vest is great in terms of being highly visible, however the sizing is misleading. The Petflect website says that a small is for dogs under 25 lbs. I have a 14 lb Maltese-Bichon mix. I figured since the vest had velcro at the neck and body, a small would be fine. Unfortunately, it's so big that I have to wrap the belly strap around my dog twice (see photo)! It still works, but had I known just how big it was, I would have looked at a different vest. It's too bad this one doesn't come in extra small. Pros: -Orange is visible in daylight, bands and pawprints are highly reflective (see photo) -Seems well-constructed (though time will tell) -Nice that both neck and body have velcro - don't have to slip anything over my dog's head Cons: -Small is too large for my dog -Wish there was a hole on the back for clipping a leash to a harness

Great dog vests!
Bought two for my labs, and it's great for many reasons. The reflective patches are incredibly vibrant, and I love the reflective paw print on the side. While walking at night, a car slowed down to tell me they saw the reflective light from far down the road, and how it caught their attention and they wondered what the reflective light was. That's a win for me! The fit is great (my dogs are 60 & 65lbs), and is a nice layer for them during cold weather. Seems to be good quality after one months use so far. Hunter orange is ideal during hunting season. I love this product, and definitely recommend.Canadian ehGreat dog vests!
