Bitter Apples works great for my dogs. I've used it in the past and deters chewing on your stuff. Right now I am using it to keep the puppy from grabbing my other dogs harness when taking them for a walk. It is alcohol based and will evaporate soon. I have never had it stain, but a test area should be done before spraying on furniture. You can also spray around hot spots. I used to put it on my hand and then wipe around the hot spot area so it would not burn my dog. Great training tool.

I'm using this bitter Apple Spray for about eight years, now. I have a black lab and a I got her when she was two month old. Labs or puppies in general chew on everything. One time I got home and my wodden coffee table was missing a huge "U" shaped piece, the size of a basketball. Right now my doggie had a rush on her paw. Labs have a lot of skin issues. This one has allergies on top of it. She always is itching and biting herself. I applied the bitter Apple spray for about ten days 2-3 times a day. And it is almost all healed up. This spray safed me an expensive trip to the vet. I used to spray my furniture and plants. It does not smell or you won't see it. But it leaves a bitter taste. Dogs will learn that your furniture taste bad. Or like in my case. It will keep her from licking on her wet spot. And give the skin the time it needs to heal and not be itchy anymore. I swear on this product!!!!
