intresting that all these reviews are so negative. my boyfriend has trained his 17 year old Pekingese and bichon dog with this method. (17 years ago) and till today. EVERYONE is impressed with our amazing, healthy, athletic, responsive, fluffy dog. I'm not sure how it didnt work for you. but for us it did. he is THE BEST dog out there. Many people are shocked at how obedient as well as stubborn and full of personality Rocco is.

    REally great training video. If you follow what he says and are CONSISTENT you will have a well trained dog. We started from the day we brought our 7 week old Wirehaired Pointing Griffon home. We have had her 4 weeks. She will sit, lay down, come, stay in her assigned areas, and fetch on command. We are working on heel and some more commands too. As stated in his video, each command was learned by our pup within the first day of training it, with the exception being the lay "down" command. Took our very smart but somewhat stubborn girl 3 days to consistently do that one. But she does it consistently ever since. It's a joy to have a well trained dog, not only for us but for everyone she will come into contact with. Buy the whole system and train your dog by it. It will take work on your part but this works and you will have a lifetime of payout.

    I really like the simple, direct approach this trainer takes. My sweet little dog was a terrible leash puller. After five minutes of following the instructions, using the recommended collar, she now walks near me and checks to see where I am going. She is also obeying me in relieving herself on command - a huge improvement. I look forward to learning more - I have only reviewed part of the video so far.

    I would have rated it five stars except that the collar is a bit heavy for my tiny dog, and it was difficult to adjust it small enough and have enough links left to use it as a corrective device. I wish the joining cord had been just a little shorter to allow for one more link to be added to the collar. Also, the "easy connect" coupling is a little heavy for a tiny dog and is a bit unwieldy.

    Nevertheless, so far I am having success in the areas I have tackled, so I do recommend this training. It cost about the same as a five week group course, and I like being able to review instructions. Classes haven't worked too well for me in the past.

    The concept is good. I think the system would work better for me if I had another person living in the household since I wanted the collar mainly to curtail my Yorkie's barking at other dogs when on our walks and barking and jumping on people who come to the door. I usually only have visitors about every six weeks so that process hasn't been successful yet. As for the collar itself, since my Yorkie is small, the fastner with the ring where the leash attaches tends to fall beneath the dog's neck. Thus, when I snap the leash there's not much of an effect. I can't make the collar tighter or it would pinch constantly. I did, however, get some good tips from the video.

    First let me say that this is not a paid endorsement of the Don Sullivan Perfect Dog System. I do not get any commissions or kickbacks of any kind. However, I have personally used (and continue to use) it on my dog and have had remarkable results in less than two weeks! I would guess about 6 - 8 hours of working time.

    I was actually able to walk my dog through the neighborhood WITHOUT a leash and he followed my every command (Stop, Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Play, etc.) In addition, he fetches and brings the ball back and places it in my hand without fighting. He will stay in a sitting or down position until I tell him he can get up. Currently we are at about 2-3 minutes.

    As an experiment, I brought him to Tractor Supply, which allows pets, and gave him the down and stay command just inside the front door. I then walked several aisles down and turned the corner. I waited about 1 minute, then called him. The clerk said he stayed in place until I called.

    Don't get me wrong, you have to put in some work, but the system is everything it advertises to be.

    If you are still on the fence, watch some short videos on YouTube. Just search for Don Sullivan, the "Dog Father", and you will find them.

    The videos were great information but the collar did not work. Its made out of plastic and a thin rope used for like tiedowns in a truck. After just a few uses of pulling down on the rope like the video said, its almost like it stretched out or something. I would have to stop the training and pull up on the collar from my dogs neck because not releasing the tension on it own. I returned the product within the 30 day money back guarantee. I do like having that feature.... I just returned it so still waiting on refund... Hopefully no issues with that

    I got this product because I have a 4 month old Aussie pup. He has very high energy and learned all his commands almost immediately at 8 weeks. It was rather SCAREY, he is sooo smart.But after a month or so he figured that he really only has to do things when HE wants to. Or so he thought. I am not about to spend the next 12 years telling him no and calm down, so I tried this program. I worked with him three different times yesterday and on the down stay had to put on the pressure. He was not happy at all, and whined and tried to nip me. At which point he got even more correction. Then we went back to playing and having bonding time. He was very quiet for the rest of the day, but this morning he is back to his old self playing and being excited..........without the problems. On word and he is laying down, another and he is staying, without correction. What more could you ask for? If your dog doesn't have a problem then you dont need this. If he has even ONE, then this is the program for him. I want to enjoy my dog, not yell at him. And this program does just that. Lets me enjoy him. BTW just keeping him out of the road is worth the cost of the program. Thank You Mr. Sullivan.
