I didn't want to use this on my poor pooch but she barks at anything and anyone at any time so my plan was to use it for short periods of time. It said it was ok for 5 lb. dogs, mine is 7 lb. I used the lowest setting and the small ends. When I first put the collar on my pooch it broke my heart to think she was gonna get hurt. When she barked and it zapped her she yelped and I wondered how it felt then one time something happened on the last warning beep that it did not stop, it kept zapping her over and over, my poor pooch started to cry nonstop, she ran towards me jumping for me to pick her up, she didn't stop crying, I panicked and as I was trying to take the collar off she kept crying and moving a lot so I couldn't take it off fast enough and my reaction was to stick my hand between the collar and my pooch and that thing hurt like hell on my hand so I can't imagine how a small dog must feel. The collar has a long strap and I had to cut it to fit my small dog because she was dragging it, the zapping is too strong for a small dog even on the lowest setting with the small ends. THIS THING IS HORRIBLE!!!.
