We have paid a lot more money for dog doors before that break. This one is going strong and we have had no problems. My husky never walks out or in. She always goes through it at top speed. It is a little heavy, but even my cat has figured out how to use it. It seals great unless the wind is blowing hard right at it, then it will blow open a little and we have to block it off.

Product Description
Installation Wall and Door Entry
Step 1 Measurement
The installation height of the ground is more critical to a dog using the door than the size of the opening. We recommend the opening start 2 - 2.5" below your dogs chest. Take your measurement from ground to the bottom of your dogs chest, then subtract 2.5". This will be the bottom of your opening.
Step 2 Cutting Your Opening
Create the rough opening in your mounting surface per your specific door. Small Heavy Duty Dog Door and Small Easy Dog Door (9 5/8" x 14 1/2"). Heavy Duty Dog Door and Easy Dog Door (13 1/4" x 18 1/4"). Big Dog Door and Easy Big Dog Door (18 1/4" x 26 1/4").
Step 3 PVC Trim
We recommend using caulking or silicone on the PVC kit to seal between the kit and mounting surface. The PVC Kit consists of 2 pieces. The narrower piece is installed to the outside of your application. The door will be fastened to this piece. The larger piece is installed on the interior. Your drop down closure will be attached to this piece. Two screws per channel fasten it to the PVC kit, place 1 screw underneath each channel to act as a stop.
Step 4 Door and Drop Down Install
Installing the dog door, place the dog door over the narrower piece of the PVC kit so the entire opening is covered. Use the included screws to fasten the door to the PVC kit. Installing the Drop Down Closure, use the 4 screws to connect the metal channels to the PVC kit. Once installed, the panel slides down into the channel to prevent use of the door.
Show your dog how to use door. Your dog will learn to use your pet door almost at once, but there are a few which may be a little nervous at first. The most important rule is to be patient. Do not let the dog have a bad experience or it may become frightened.

Well built amazing customer service
This product is well built . The spring is strong and if you have multiple pups make sure you don't just let them run through one after another. Hold back and let go one at a time so they see it closes fast. The seller will work with you on teaching your pups how to use it. Be patient. It will last forever as far as I am concerned. Best customer service I have had in years as well. Thank you gun dog doors from saving me from replacing flap after flap on old door that my youngest pup chewed off every time. Happy customer.
