I purchased these pads December 9, 2013. I have 3 large & 3 smaller. I have alternated these daily. I always regretted not getting all of them in the larger size. (Yep), I just said I have used them daily since I purchased them way back Dec. 2013. They are 10 years old now and they still work! However, I do lay a layer of paper peepee pads underneath these fabric pads just as a security in the event it leaks through since they are older now. A matter of fact, they still work 'great'.
After we they get used, we rinse them first, then in the washing machine they go together (3 or 4) using cold water, of course soap, but NO SOFTNER as I found it reduces absorbancy. I use a prewash, and extra rinse.
By the way, we wash them in Tide laundry soap (which is too strong for my clothes, but perfect strength for these pads. (Tide is an excellent strong detergent to clean these.)
After the machine is emptied out, we run a wash on hot/sanitize along with bleach to disinfect the machine before washing other items.
I use these because I am disabled living with chronic pain that limits my ability to get my 4-legged children outside to do her business while my husband is away. His 10 hours away from home makes for a long day. No animal should be made to hold it.I hear people that remove water so the poor animal won't urinate during the day. If a dog is made to hold urinating, or not allowed to drink for 8 + hours, expect a big vet bill for bladder stones and other health problems, not to mention it is SIMPLY CALLED "A B U S E".
Just ask yourself, " how would I feel if________(fill in what you are doing to your dog, can I go all day without eating drinking, urinating, setting in a confined cage, how would I like living tied outside, sleeping in the rain, how would I feel if someone yelled at you just because you was expected to hold it for urinating for 8 hours 10 hours.
let your dog eat drink, and have normal body function by using pads if there is no way to let them out during the day. If you are worried about our planet and hate using plastic pee-pee pads, these are a great alternative.
I am here today to by more large pads.
We also have a set with different use, these are kept separate they have a different fabric pattern and not used by doggy, but family like using them by the pool to lay on.
