Fit Well and Looks Cool
Like many (most?) dogs, our Wasabi likes to stick his head out the window on local drives. We decided it would be best to protect his eyes after one of his eyes became irritated (unknown cause). He does not mind wearing them although if they are on too long and he does not have his head out the window, he will paw at them a bit. But he's a good boy and will stop doing that when I ask him to. He is a medium size, 30 lb. dog with a puppy size head. The medium size Doggles were too big and the small size is a perfect fit.

My mom won't buy me new Doggles because I chewed the straps off of the old pair. I'm really sorry but I thought that everything that was mine was also for chewing, guess I also thought that her brand new cell phone was mine too. Nobody that answered spoke dog so I just chewed it up really good. hehe
I really, really liked them because I could ride with my head hanging out the window and now my eyes hurt and she won't roll down the window. So if everyone would let her know that I PROMISE not to chew on the straps (she doesn't speak dog, but you do) so she will go to Amazon.com and order a pair soon. They are even about half as much as the other pair because she didn't know about Amazon.com back then.

6/18/2011 By Mom. Beagle has new doggles. I took the doggles out of the package and she ran over and grabbed them out of my hand and when to the closet door where her "go" collar is kept. We immediately went for a ride. She was in heaven. I did however need to immediately get them off of her and put them with the rest of the doggie items so that no more chewing would happen. To be quite honest, I really didn't realize how much she liked them.

While the shift from "a dog is just a dog" to "a dog is family" has picked up speed within the US, there are still aspects of caring for pets that a lot of people do not think about, often until it is too late. Sadly, I am one of those people who fall into the latter category. After my basset hound, Norma Jean, had to have her second eye removed due to acute glaucoma, we had a prosthetic inserted. Unfortunately that prosthetic fell out, and for chaotic reasons that I cannot elaborate upon, I was unable to take her back to the vet to have it reinserted. She has been left with an empty eye socket.

So, what do you do to allow your dog, who absolutely loves to hang her head outside the car window and let her floppy jowls and ears flap in the breeze as she sniffs furiously, but you are terrified of something happening to her damaged eyes? Why, you hop on the Internet! And lo, I stumbled upon Doggles®!

    Construction

Doggles® are made of heavy-duty plastic with a foam rim that presses against the face of the dog. There is an elastic strap that circles behind the dog's head (and under the ears, in the case of my basset hound), and a chin strap that is looped to the head strap to keep the Doggles® securely fastened and in-place.

    Pros

    1. The padding is great to prevent the hard plastic edges from pressing against the edges of the skull.
    2. The elastic straps are adjustable to ensure a good fit.
    3. The elastic is soft enough to rest comfortably against the dog's fur.
    4. The chin strap does not catch on things nor prevent the dog from barking/drinking/eating.
    5. They are very stylish; I always get compliments or a few chuckles every time we go on walks!
    6. When hanging out of the window, Doggles® will stay in place and not fly off!
    7. Due to the rugged plastic construction, scratches may appear, but they clean off easily.

    Cons

    1. If your Doggles® are not a good fit, they may hang out past the edges of your dog's head on either side.
    2. These glasses are designed for dogs with a snout; short-nosed breeds (i.e. - pugs) may need a few tries for them to fit properly.
    3. There is a small period of adjustment before your dog is comfortable with them and doesn't try to remove them. Just be patient; they will come around!
    4. While I have never seen my basset hound successfully take her Doggles® off, she has managed to rest them on her forehead. Be prepared; until your dog is comfortable you may find that he will end up with some odd placement for them.

    Overall

These goggles are a simple, ingenious idea to a problem that most people do not think about. Whether your pooch suffers from eye problems, or you just want to protect his peepers while hanging outside the car window, Doggles® fill a niche that is truly "why didn't I think of that?" They are economical, durable, and while there are a few cons, most of them are easily remedied. In short, if you want a stylish way to protect your furry companion's eyes from the sun, wind, and detritus, Doggles® are an investment that will last the lifetime of your pet. Like a rabies shot or flea medication, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

My pup got one of his eyeballs scratched up when he stuck his nose in a scratchy desert plant on a recent walk in my neighborhood, leading to pain for him and an expensive trip to the vet, so I was looking for a way to prevent it from happening again. I bought another (cheap) pair of doggy goggles here on Amazon first, and they were too big for his face and pretty cheaply made. I decided to spring a few dollars more towards the effort, found these (in the small size), and they're PERFECT! They're very sturdy and very adjustable. He's not too thrilled wearing them on our walks now, but he's getting used to it; like anything else, with a good dog, you can get there, it just takes patience and training. Also, obviously, he looks adorable.

He is a 25 lb min pin mix - small face, big neck. He also has pointy ears, so you don't necessarily need floppy ears to anchor them.

We have an 85lbs 2.5 year old male yellow lab. I was very excited when I saw these. We ordered the large, and the band set even on the smallest size was too big. We got the medium and the nose bridge is too small. Not to mention he wanted no part of wearing them. Now, hes a well behaved dog. Listens most of the time, knows "leave it, sit, paw, lay down, stay, etc", does not jump on people, overall great, but has a few things he struggles with, this being one of them. The other is cutting his nails. Now the vet told us that the reaction to pull back his foot when you hold it is totally natural, but somehow he channels super human strength while doing this. We've tried bribes, while he was sleeping, doing more than 1 at once. The groomer can do it, we can't. If your dog has trouble with anything like that be prepared to have patients trying to get this to work. After 2 days of trying we pull up to a stop light, and there's a germanshepard in a side car wearing them. I said to the man, "how did you get her to wear them?", he said "She knows when I put on my glasses, she has to put on hers, its one of the rules, or she doesn't go". Apparently I failed to teach my dog what "rules" were and that's why I can't get him to keep them on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant for my Jack Russell
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 21, 2014
I bought these for my Jack Russell, Molly, as she doesn't like the sun in her eyes and gets runny eyes in the summer. I thought I would have a job keeping them on her head but they fit perfectly and surprisingly she didn't try and take them off. I think she looks cute and they seem to help her with the sun which is the main thing.

this exceeded our expectations. our 15 year old lurcher is still active but has developed a light sensitivity which meant we couldn't take him out in bright light - hadn't been a massive problem over winter but now the lighter days are here was proving to be more so. he now looks super cool walking down the road with us and we can take him out at any time of the day. he's back to enjoying walks on the beach! we were sceptical about just how effective they would be but we would recommend them to anyone whose dog has light sensitive eyes. they also arrived quicker than expected, are easily adjusted and do stay on well apart from when he attempts to take them off himself! excellent value for money would have happily paid more given the difference they have made

My 11 year old toy poodle had developed serious problems seeing on sunny days. He would flinch and stop walking because of shadows caused by the sun when we were on our walks making it difficult to walk with him because I was constantly having to watch what he was doing to make sure I didn't fall over him. These sunglasses have made a huge difference. He's more confident, doesn't flinch and is back to his usual self on walks. Surprisingly from the first time I put them on he hasn't tried to shake the them off and almost seems to know they are there to help him. I'm really pleased how well they work. With summer just around the corner they're a lifesaver.

Donc poubelle.(les doggles pas le chien ^^)
