ADORABLE, but definitely runs small...my 5lb Yorkie needed a medium
Meet Fred, my five pound Yorkie who, as you can see, is absolutely thrilled with his 2022 Christmas card outfit! Fred typically wears an XS to small in dog clothing, but heeding the advice from other reviewers, I sized up to a medium and am glad I did...or Fred would have to appear on this year's Christmas card in nothing but his birthday suit. The outfit is well made, and as you can see, looks absolutely adorable on a smaller pet. The outfit simply goes on over the head, with front legs inserted into the suit's legs. there is a bit of elastic at the underside and it leaves plenty of clearance for a male dog to go potty without soaking the suit. The hat has a bit of elastic, but it didn't take much more than Fred shaking his head and it was off. Thankfully, I was fast enough to get a photo before the hat was on the floor. Personally, I love this style of dog costume - any pup looks hilarious with human like arms, however, the "hands" on this outfit just aren't distinctive enough and with the white fluffy cuffs of the suit, the hands are indistinguishable, and look more like tiny mitts at best. If the "hands" were larger, with a tiny bit more detail, or in red, it would look a bit more convincing. Proportionately, the suit works on Fred, who is very short, with short legs, but just barely. I had to pull the suit forward a bit to get the pant legs to appear a bit longer than they were sitting with the suit pulled on properly. I can see where this could be an issue for taller, longer-legged dogs as while it appears the suit may work on some larger-bodied dogs, the "pants" look to be very short in length on some of the bigger dogs shown.

This is a cute costume. It fit my chiweenie perfect. She is about 13 lbs.
Of course she was not happy about it. We are going in a Christmas dog walk next week, I am sure it will be a hit.

It took a couple tries to get the right fit but it's easy to do with Amazon's return policy. I know cats do not love to be dressed up (and some people think it's abusive) but my cat is very chill and frankly, it's the least she can do to pull her weight around the house. She is loved on, fed the best food, gets the choice sleeping spots, gets litter cleaned twice or thrice daily, and overall catered to 365 days a year, so in the grand scheme of things, this is little to ask. And it's a great gift to mom.

My dog is normally an XL in clothes but I ordered the largest size (3XL) and it was still a bit tight. Thankfully it fits him. He’s a 90lb golden retriever (yes he’s a bit overweight, we’re working on it!). The quality is good, it does stay on, it looks cute, and it’s soft. I think it’s durable and will last a long time. The arms are too short imo and I wish they’d make them longer depending on which size you get. Overall, it’s adorable and my family will love the surprise costume on Christmas :)
