This jacket was just the thing our Walker CoonHound & Great Dane mix needed. He unfortunately developed issues with his kidneys this past summer and because of the low protein diet, his coat has thinned out, making his endurance of cold weather rather limited. The 30" size fits him nearly perfectly, with a little extra room in the chest area (which isn't a problem, since it's adjustable - it would just align better if he were thicker like a Mastif) and about an inch extra length than is needed. After only a week or two of use, he now associates it with walks and gets a bit excited when he sees it - plus he looks pretty hilariously handsome walking around in a jacket that makes him look even bigger than he already is (~115 lbs). I've uploaded a picture of Toby wearing the jacket into the product shots for reference on size - he's slightly smaller than a full breed Dane, but has the same body type (he's the guy that looks like a huge Beagle). The jacket would probably fit him even better at about 28"-29", but I can't complain about that since this wasn't a custom purchase.
I hesitated between this jacket and the one with the nylon shell, but I'm pretty confident that this dual layer fleece keeps him warmer and just as dry, since we're not going to bring him on many walks in the rain. In fact, he hates the rain so much we have to drag him out just to pee. The double fleece is super thick and the velcro areas are reinforced with heavy-duty, somewhat rigid, backing between the two layers of fleece, making me confident that the on/off pulling of the jacket's attachments will not cause any ripping or holes over time.
The only thing that was a bit annoying to me was that the jacket had already obviously been purchased and worn by another dog, since the package was open and there was a bit of dog hair on the inside. Amazon should either have cleaned the jacket more thoroughly, or sold it at a discounted price through Warehouse Deals, since it wasn't *technically* a new item. It wasn't worth the hassle of exchanging, so we just kept it since there was nothing wrong with it.
