It deserves 10 stars!!!

It deserves 10 stars!!!
This is one amazing device! I was at my wits end with my dogs sudden aggressive behavior towards people we encountered on the beach during our morning walks. It was becoming embarrassing, and dangerous, he tried to nip ankles and hands! His sudden lack of respect had to be addressed! We have walked that beach since he was a pup, and he never was aggressive, nor ignored my commands until recently. He had always been such a sweet little guy. So, I grudgingly and skeptically resorted to a shock collar. I chose this one bc of the reviews, and it seemed to fit smaller dogs (Chi/ Boston terrier mix) better than most of the others reviewed. It was super easy to set up, and fits him perfectly. The first day I tried the sound setting. He responded, but not to the point of actually stopping him from charging people and barking like crazy. The vibration setting wasn't much better, but he was starting to acknowledge and make eye contact with me as he had as a pup. He did ok with the sound and vibration settings for about a week, (shocking him was a last resort for me) then it got to the point where I had to.... I shocked (25 setting) him before he reached his target. Needless to say that definitely got his attention, after one more shock, he understood. I now praise him like crazy when he doesn't bother others when warned, he listens and keeps eye contact with me. The vibration or sound setting is all that's needed now to get his attention...he knows what could be next! He's happier and so am I. It's a pleasure once again to walk the beach with my best friend without incident. :-) But what I find most amazing is that this thing is virtually waterproof! Living on the beach, there is no way to keep him out of the water, especially playing with his buddies. I know it's just supposed to be splash proof but thing has been pretty much submerged several times. Each time I thought, oh no, it's destroyed...I should have ordered the two pack! I just blow it out with canned air and let it dry in the sun and it keeps on going! It's about 6 weeks old at this point.

This product was purchased for a VERY stubborn English Cream Golden Retriever. He has been to obedience classes at the local pet store and to a 7 day boot camp, where he stayed at the kennel. The continual reinforcement of his commands has not been done on a regular basis, he was a total nightmare. He would not listen, respond or even acknowledge commands when we tried to pick up his training again. This was a desperate move to purchase this type of collar. I did not want to resort to this level of correction. We received the collar, I did not even put the static pins on to give him the shock. I started with 50% on the vibration. He was confused and a bit scared of it at first (about the first day). After continued use and only using it to reinforce the commands when he did not respond, he is getting much better at stopping his bad habits (which we allowed to happen). He will go to his "place", he immediately gets down when jumping up and is responding to "come" again.
Consistency and repetition are the key to having a positive experience with this collar. We did have to increase the level of vibration to 75%, as he started to ignore the 50% correction. I think this is the appropriate level for him. He is responding much quicker and does not ignore the commands.
We are very satisfied with the product, it was easy to attach the collar to the receiver, the sync of the collar to the controller was easy. The quality is great. Others have mentioned that it sounds like something is loose inside, this is normal. This is the motion sensor that allows the collar to turn back on immediately when the dog moves. The instructions explain this. Read the instructions that come with it. The instructions could go A LOT more into detail on how to use this as a training aid, you get a very short quick reference.
We just purchased a second collar for the other older dog. The controller can handle up to 2 collars each with their own settings. The other dog is a White German Shepherd and is VERY protective of his yard and barks at anything and everything. I tried the collar with the same level of 75% vibration and he immediately responded to it and stops barking. I do not think I will have to resort to the static shock level on either of them.

worked great when I first got it but after 2 months it works 70% of the time, and I have to reset it every few days. I ended up buying a "sportdog" brand training collar, If you want something Cheap in price and quality...this item is for you. If you are looking for something that is reliable and good quality, I would spend the extra money and purchase the "sportdog brand"

I had to use another collar since it was just a little too big for my dog's neck though. I keep my dog downstairs at night and he recently started barking about an hour before I get up in the mornings. There hasn't been an easy way to correct the behavior, so I bought this collar to trigger a shock whenever he starts barking. I just keep the remote on my night stand. It seems to work pretty well for what I'm using it for. My only issue so far is that the collar doesn't work 100% of the time. There's been a few mornings when the receiver didn't accept the command. I'm not sure if it was because it was in some sort of standby mode or what, but I couldn't get my dog to stop barking when this happened. I also thought the battery might last a little longer. I got about (1) week out of it, but I tend to leave the collar on more than I should. One thing that I really like is that you can double the warranty to (2) years if you register as a VIP with the company.

The product is of terrible quality but when you're paying such a low price I guess that's what you'd expect. First, both the transmitter and receiver were not charging properly. Next, the shock was not reliable. It only worked sometimes. When using an e collar, timing is important. But, sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. Not acceptable when trying to train a dog !! I will be returning this product. When using something on your dog, it needs to be of really good quality . Well I learned my lesson. Do not buy!! Cheap product for a really cheap quality product

I really like the collar so far! I have had it about a week now, I bought it to use during the day for my 8 month old golden retriever puppy who gets very excitable and sometimes escapes out the door when people are coming and going. She doesn't go too far, or hasn't yet but we live near a main road where cars tend to fly by and shes far too excited to be loose, its hard to get her attention. I chose this type for its vibration and beeping features because just getting her attention is key. This collar works GREAT for that. I also want to work with her and train her so eventually I can get her to come back without the collar, which i am already seeing improvements in just a week of working with her and this collar! The battery save feature is great. I read in some of the reviews that the 5 second delay on the remote to turn it on could be a nuisance when bad behavior is happening and you want to act fast but, its not even 5 seconds before the remote is on and operational and correction takes place. recharge is fast and last a long time. I have only charged the remote once in a week using it daily and the battery wasn't even drained fully yet. The collar hasn't needed a recharge yet since the initial charge!! Great battery life!! the price is unbeatable for the quality of this kit so far in my book.
I understand the use for these collars and the effectiveness, i personally have used them to make sure i can safely gain my dogs and maintain safety, training ect. and i have found the vibration is effective, as effective as collars i have used in the past that only had a shock or beep feature. So for those who are iffy on "electrocuting" their dogs or those who would say it causes harm, this collar can be effective while avoiding that option if you choose!! Great product. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who could use a little help with their pups!!
