Product Description

Resco braided nylon snap chokes are made of super-soft tubular nylon and are made in the USA. These chokes are available in 5 colors; Black, White, Brown, Red and Fawn and 6 lengths. There is a 3/4-inch ring sewn at one end and a nickel-plated spring snap at the other. A 1/2-inch ring floats across the choke for the snap to attach, while your lead can attach to the 3/4-inch ring. To get the perfect measurement for your dog, measure around his neck where the collar sits and add 2-3 inches.

This review is based on real experience, yet it should not to be taken too seriously, and I freely admit that I've not used this dog collar for its intended purpose. Instead, I bought it to temporally hang a 70 lb (31.75 kg) punching bag from my pull up stand. To my defense I can say that the collar looked much bigger and sturdier in the item description, but when it arrived I realized that it's not much thicker than a shoe lace.Yet I gave it a try, hoping the braided paracord, metal rings and snap hook would last for a short duration, but it took just a few light punches to break it. Paracord and metal rings resisted the load undamaged, but the hook tore apart, like it was made of plastic (see pic). I understand that compromises in materials had to be made for a budget collar like this. Still, I feel that a snap hook shouldn't break that easily, hence my three-star rating. To sum it up, this collar seems to be fine for smaller, lighter pets, but that Great Dane would definitively need something sturdier.

Bought this product to help leash train my border collie. Great dog, just having a bit of trouble with pulling on walks. His neck measured 15" so I ordered this one.

Honestly, I had to tie a knot in it because it is still sliding down (supposed to be just behind the ears), and our first walk wasn't as nice as I was hoping it would be, but I am still hopeful!

Not necessarily the best bet for an aggressive puller, but for our dog, who just needs some tweaking, this one should be great. Clasp seems solid enough for our purposes (but again, might not be strong enough for a very stubborn dog). Material is nice and soft, so no worry about irritation.

I won't leave it on when we aren't actually working- it's just too snug for my comfort. Great as a training tool, though!

Never leave an unattended dog on a slip collar, not even for a minute. That said, this is a great collar made by a dependable company that makes quality products. We use them for slipping on in a hurry, holding onto a strong dog that cannot easily get out of the collar, and for a collar that does not distract the eye when on a show dog.

I have owned three of these collars, which I have used to train my dogs for therapy dog work. This one broke after a few months of moderate use. I was minutes away from beginning the therapy dog test with my Golden, when she pulled and the leash snapped off because the large ring on the collar had broken (see photo). If she hadn’t come when I’d called, she would have been loose in the neighborhood and we would have missed the test, not to mention the obvious safety issue. If you can’t trust a collar to stay in one piece, it’s not worth purchasing. I would also add that this collar is one of the most expensive of any nylon variety. For that price, it should at least do no harm.

I use this for agility class; my dog can run through obstacles without getting caught on any of them and I still have a handle to grab if she plays keep away. We’ve been using this for a few months now and it’s worked great.

This brand was recommended by a veterinarian and it's wonderful. We have a Chihuahua and I bought so many different collars before finding this one. Because her fur is short and silky, she could sometimes slip out of other collars and that worried me. This soft nylon snap choke is perfect to keep her where I want her when we go on walks. Great product!
