Use a soft measuring tape and always make sure not to measure too tightly by allowing sufficient room to slip two fingers between measuring tape. Chest girth should be the most important measurement to be considered.
  • If dog measurements are in between sizes, we recommend going up one size if dog has a deep chest, stout build, or overweight. Use a measuring tape to measure.

About Body Glove Dog Life Jackets: Dog flotation device (dog PFD) will ensure the safety of your best friend while having fun in the water. Dog life jacket is made of a water resistant neoprene outer cover with form fitting EVA foam filling for comfort and buoyancy.
Features:
-Two adjustable underbelly straps with strong double Velcro and buckle closures to ensure the dog vest will not come undone (Please note that sizes XXS and XS life jackets only have one strap at underbelly area)
-Mesh at the underbelly and around neck provide breathability and comfort

SIZING HELP: Please follow our size charts. Chest girth should be the most important measurement to be considered and measure around widest part of chest girth. For the length, measure length of your dog from base of neck to base of tail and compare this measurement to our size chart. For the neck, measure around widest part and compare measurement to our size chart.

    It has been very hard to find a vest for my 120 lb Bernese Mountain Dog. This is one of the only brands that makes a vest for a BIG dog. It fits him very well, and he is quite comfortable in it and much more secure and confident in the water. Highly recommend it if you have a big dog!

    Great but not perfect. I purchased this for my goldendoodle because she had out grown last season's. It is great quality, well made and durable. My dog however has a very deep chest and it was snug on that part of her. My dog is about 55 lbs and stands tall like a poodle. I think this would be great for any larger dog that doesn't have the chest that dips down like a golden retriever or a goldendoodle.

    The item was very small my dog wear's xxs in everything else but this was exceptionally small. I have ordered the next size up and it is more expensive. I was very disappointed in my return refund out of $24.58 that I paid total my return was only $11.54. This is really going to make me think about using amazon again. I do not have that warm fuzzy feeling. I will probably just shop around like I did in the passed. Online shopping definitely is not for me.

    Sizing is off, xlarge did not fit my 63 pound dog with 29" girth but I was able to just close the clips. After a few outings on the paddle board the seams are coming apart. Also after just two uses the metal ring came off and there is no where to attach the leash anymore. I recommend getting an outward hound life jacket which I have replaced this with, it is a MUCH better product!

    I followed the sizing chart and ordered the XXL for my 85lb., 9 month old lab. It is too big for him, but I am hoping he grows into it. The weight restrictions and size for the XL would not have supported or fit him (I think). The neoprene is great quality and part of the reason why I bought this particular life jacket. I wanted it to last awhile and I think it will. The neck area of the vest is large, strange and doesn't provide much buoyancy for my dogs head. I will need to add something up there to help keep his head above water. Overall it is a good quality vest, they just need to work on the design to cater to the shape of a dog. I will say that the handle at the top of the vest is great for pulling your pup up a boat/dock ladder!

    This seems made of good quality. I have yet to try it out with my older female Pittie who I want to take swimming for her beginning arthritis as therapy. The jacket fits fine except the one buckle (one directly under the rib cage) it about 1/2" too tight at it's full extension. She is a bit on the chubby side due to her being sort of stiff and I think taking her out swimming on my days off work will fix this. I will update with her measurement VS the life jacket's when I am able. But I am pleased thus far with my purchase. I don't think buying the XXL will help your chubby pup as other reviews said that the XXL might be too big in total. I'd rather take her out swimming and help her get more active this summer (as well as myself LOL) and trim down just a little. This will be cool because she can swim "laps" with me now!
