EACH piece has to be tied! belt, chest piece, cape, ears. its sooo many strings dog kept pulling on them. In addition it was big on him and smaller size was unavailable.     I am very disappointed. It was not obvious to me from the picture, but the chest piece is a type of foam that needs to tie on in two places. Then the belt is another item to tie on. Then the cape is another item to tie on. And then, the head piece yet another tied on separately. (I expected th is of the head piece). Trying to tie everything was challenging, and then I still could not get them to coordinate into a nice costume that didn't look like random pieces tied. Also I got size small which would have fit my dog just fine, but the foam chest piece did not lay flat. So, he had crunched up foam between his front legs, and a belt that randomly slipped down. Yes, I hate it. For over 25 years we have bought costumes for our dogs--- I have never had one that was such poor design. It is probably not worth the cost and hassle to return, but it will never be worn.

    Happy with the quality of the product but wish we knew beforehand that that this particular costume is not a single body piece costume but instead has four separate parts (chestplate, belt, cape and headband) all of which are tied onto the dog with long fabric ties, so if you get one that's too small it won't be a huge problem.
    We ordered the XL size based on the chest measurement of our dog, but we should have stuck with the breed reccomendation which suggested a medium. The costume is too big.
