Good product and appears well made. We have a 5-month-old puppy and we're still trying to train him, but he's starting to use the bells to go out. The trick is to associate the bell with going out, so it's best if he rings the bell, but sometimes we do it for him, or have his paw bump the bells. Bells could be louder, but it depends on how hard he pushes them. Hopefully as he gets older, he'll make them ring louder. Some have said they have trouble training their dogs to use the bells, but it's a constant reinforcement every time they go out, and praise them when they do. Our dog is highly food motivated, and while we don't use food for the bells, that's something you could try as well (we use treats for other training, including coming, staying, and sometimes when he goes #2 outside). Again, it's all about rewarding good behavior. Good luck!

The bells were bigger than I had anticipated! Our pup learned within the first day. I would suggest two small changes first is to add one more bell at the bottom for smaller dogs. The second change is to make it a bit longer and to add another option for fastening so it can be used for different lengths. Our little puppy isn't quite tall enough yet so we improvised.

Along with the bells, comes a 5 step plan for teaching your dog to be potty trained. I would strongly suggest reading it and trying it. It's true, old dogs can learn new tricks.
